Teen Choice Awards Nashville winners include Taylor Swift, Paramore, Hunter Hayes

More than half a dozen celebrities with ties to Nashville collected commemorative surf boards for wins at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday night.

Chord Overstreet, who plays Sam Evans on “Glee,” won Choice TV Male Scene Stealer. Overstreet grew up in Nashville and much of his family, including successful country singer-songwriter Paul Overstreet, still lives here.

Franklin-based rock group Paramore was awarded Choice Rock Group.

Miley Cyrus, whose family still owns a farm in Williamson County, collected a win in Choice TV Female Scene Stealer for her guest role on “Two and a Half Men.”

Hunter Hayes bested Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton to win Choice Male Country Artist.

Taylor Swift beat Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Jana Kramer and Carrie Underwood to win Choice Female Country Artist. Swift’s song “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” won Choice Country Song.

Lady Antebellum picked up a win in the Choice Country Group category, and recent Nashville transplant Ed Sheeran won Choice Music Breakout Artist.

More than 150 million votes were cast to determine the winners at Teen Choice 2013, which recognizes the most popular teen icons in television, music, film, sports, fashion, comedy and the web. The Sunday-night ceremony took place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif.,
